Sodium Fluorosilicate is a fine, white, odorless, powdered solid. Toxic by ingestion, inhalation and skin absorption.
1.Appearance : White, hexagonal crystals.
White, crystalline powder.
White, free-flowing powder.
2.production method:Sodium fluorosilicate is made by neutralizing fluorosilicic acid with sodium chloride or sodium sulfate.
3.Usage :Additives for water fluoridation, ore refining, or other fluoride chemical (like sodium fluoride, magnesium silicofluoride, cryolite, aluminum fluoride) production.in the field of laundry souring, manufacturing enamels, manufacturing coated papers, wood preservative , foam production, opal glass, ore flotation and water fluoridation.
Features:
1.Sodium fluorosilicate appears as white crystal, crystalline powder or colorless hexagonal crystals.
2.It is odorless and tasteless.
3.3.Its relative density is 2.68;
4.it has moisture absorption capability.
5.It can be dissolved in a solvent such as ethyl ether but insoluble in alcohol.
6.The solubility in acid is greater than that in water.
7.It can be decomposed in alkaline solution, generating sodium fluoride and silica. After searing (300 ℃), it is decomposed into sodium fluoride and silicon tetrafluoride. It is poisonous!
